 Job Summary
The Release Manager is responsible for developing and managing the technical release plans for all enterprise environments across all active and planned projects (Development, QA, UAT, Pre-PROD, PROD).  The Release Manager is responsible for the working across development teams and partnering with the business teams to plan and schedule all changes into any of the managed environments. Responsibilities also include developing and managing the code branching and merging strategies for each project and code release.

This is a hands on IT role. This person must possess a strong software development skillset, excellent negotiation and project management skills and have proven success in continuous process improvement.

The ideal candidate will have experience partnering with SVP, VP and Director level associates. This person will partner closely with all levels of the organization in eCommerce, Store Operations, Merchandising, fulfillment and internal I.T. departments as well as 3rd party vendors that the eCommerce site utilizes. The role requires the ability to interact with cross-functional teams aligning the project schedules.

Essential Tasks
•Identifying, scoping, coordinating and managing software releases to multiple test and production environments
•Interacting with project and functional teams to determine release requirements
•Managing risks and resolving conflicts and issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality of each deployment
•Identifying, documenting and implementing release process improvements
•Expanding Release Management processes to additional teams to assure the software can be delivered in an automated and secure manner
•Improving efficiency of existing technical processes through automation of work (for example, writing scripts for repetitive tasks)
•Measuring and monitoring progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
•Communicating release activities and issues to the appropriate teams
•Interacting with other teams to identify and coordinate dependencies between systems
•Scheduling and conducting production deployment planning, implementation and post-release meetings

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements
-Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
-Minimum two to four (2-4) years of experience as a Release Manager
-Knowledge of product and system development lifecycles (PDLC/SDLC) and release processes
-Use of automated tools for workflow and deployments
-Familiarity with SVN, Bamboo, Jira, SharePoint and software defect/enhancement management systems, and Stash
-Ensure environments have the infrastructure needed to support the release plans by working with the appropriate infrastructure groups
-Strong oral and written communication skills along with excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
-Excellent project management skills with strong analytical and independent reasoning abilities
-Ability to manage and coordinate many tasks at once
-Very organized and detail oriented
-Off hour and on call support required

Preferred Requirements
-Specialty apparel retail experience
