The Learning Manager supports the development of field leadership in support of company initiatives.
The role assesses training and performance needs primarily for Store and District Managers as well as implementation and evaluation of programs. Secondarily, this role assesses needs of a market and delivers training accordingly.
The Learning Manager also participates in the design and development of training programs, whether it is performing the instructional design, or as a project manager in designing and developing training programs, or as an expert in certain subject matter.
•Assesses organizational training needs for Express Store and District Managers
•Partners with cross functional teams to assess key training needs.
•Partners cross functionally to build programs that meet desired learning outcomes
•Project manages the instructional design and development of programs focused on the growth of leadership skills, behaviors, and knowledge gaps
•May actively build training programs through the use of adult learning principles, instructional design theories, and experiential action-based training concepts
•Facilitates training programs in instructor led environments
•Responsible for all logistics of an instructor led event
•Manages the use of Center of Excellence stores for training new Store Managers, as well as the measurement of Success
•Manages the Leadership Development Program for high potential Store Managers, as well as the measurement of success
•Manages the use of the Center of Excellence Program for District Managers, as well as the measurement of success
•Manages the onboarding of new District Managers through a training plan including Home Office Onboarding
•Evaluates training curriculum and programs for their ability to develop skills, behaviors, and knowledge, as well as the return that each program has for the business
•Retail experience in multi-unit management roles preferred
•Experience in retail training or comparable field
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point
•Ability to conduct needs assessments and skill gap analysis, especially for retail stores
•Mastery of principles of adult learning, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
•Ability to facilitate learning programs
•Effective and efficient program and project manager
•Able to collaborate and work effectively and efficiently with cross functional teams
•Highly creative and able to think outside the box to develop solutions that will impact the Associates
•Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply what is learned in practical means
•Ability to travel (travel approximately 60%)
Preferred Requirements (skills and abilities)
•Bachelors degree (Instructional / Organizational Design, Education, or equivalent experience) or Masters Degree preferred but not required
•Fluent in instructional design theory and practical application
