    The User Experience Manager is a player/manager who will lead a team of UX Designers and work closely with a cross-functional team of Web Designers, Developers, On-line Merchants and Planners, and Store Operations partners to design and create innovative, cutting-edge features and experiences for Express.com. This position is responsible for leading the design and development of the overall experience architecture, patterns, design, standards, and interactive elements for all shoppers who interact with Express in a number of contexts online, via mobile, and in store. This position will be required to maintain a functional understanding of all existing and new customer interaction platforms

     

    Job Requirements

     

    Essential Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in HCI, Library or Computer Science or equivalent experiences. Degree in a related field, such as information design, human-computer interaction, library science, cognitive science/ psychology, graphic design, or industrial design a plus.
    • 7+ years experience working as a User Experience Architect, interaction designer, or user experience designer. 3+ years experience in e-commerce, retail merchandising/marketing, advertising, product development, e-commerce or related fields. 3+ years experience with usability testing including preparation, execution and analysis. 3+ years experience managing UX staff and large-scale projects.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and actively as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Experience with Omni Channel experiences and Web Accessibility Standards a plus.
    • Creative, self-motivated, and able to work with little guidance in an organized and efficient manner
    • Strong understanding of user experience principles, interaction design, and information architecture
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Ability to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast paced environment. Proven ability to effectively manage time and priorities for the team
    • Proven ability to manage and develop a team of UX Designers

    Preferred Requirements

    • Prior experience in a retail environment preferred
    • Must have knowledge of HTML code, JAVA, GIF, browsers, internet techniques, tools, animation and basic GUI design related applications and/or other design-related or graphics applications
