    Individual contributor responsible for administration, configuration and management of Teradata Databases and application servers’ environments that may include multiple operating system platforms and network topologies.

     

    Job Requirements

     

    Responsibilities -The Sr. Technical Consultant (STC) - Solution Engineer (Data Warehouse) will:

    • Work with BAs to analyze functional requirements as well as the functional design process
    • Design an end-to-end solution to enable the functional process. Lead and work closely with ETL and BI development team to implement the solution
    • Take ownership of creating Logical and Physical data model during solution design phase
    • Lead the development strategy to support current and future needs
    • Work closely with App DBA, BI Admins, ETL Leads to achieve maximum efficiency and performance of the EDW ecosystem.
    • Ensuring architectural alignment of the designs and development
    • Establish quality processes to deliver a reliable, stable and supportable solution
    • Recommend and participates in EDW system upgrades, migrations and retirement.
    • Evangelize self-service BI and visual discovery while helping to cultivate and nurture mobile/dashboard culture.
    • Champion data quality, integrity and reliability throughout the department by designing and promoting best practices.
    • Work closely with EDW manager to ensure prioritization of organizational and departmental objectives and projects.
    • Provide assistance to EDW team members with issues needing technical and/or functional expertise or complex systems and/or programming knowledge.
    • Provide on the job training for new or less experienced team members.

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related degree, or equivalent experience
    • 7+ years of experience delivering EDW Solutions using below tools
      • ETL – ODI, cron shell scripts, SSIS
      • Database – Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Strong SQL skills
      • Distributed Storage Technologies – Hadoop (Hortonworks), Map Reduce and Hive
      • BI tools – Microstrategy, Tableau
      • Programming Languages – C++, C#.NET (3.0 and later), JAVA
      • IDE – Visual Studio (2010 or later), Eclipse (Mars or later versions)
    • Knowledge of Retail Industry
    • Strong experience of data modelling techniques for ETL design and BI Metadata
    • Must be knowledgeable of S/W as Service, H/W as Service delivery model
    • Must have experience of architecting and implementing mobile solution for analytics and reporting
    • Must be knowledgeable in software development lifecycles/methodologies (SDLC) (agile and waterfall)
    • Must have strong presentation and collaboration skills and can communicate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation
    • Must have strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills
    • Must able to work hands-on ETL and BI technologies
    • Strong communication skills
