    Position Purpose:

    This position reports to the CIO and oversees all aspects of the technical infrastructure and operations for a fashion retail company. 

    The VP of IT Infrastructure and Operations plans, organizes, directs and optimizes all aspects required to deliver and operate company hardware, storage, access control, telecommunications (data, voice, wireless), and network services for all corporate and retail locations in alignment with company objectives.

    This role oversees effective operation of the company data center, Express managed cloud services, store & corporate user technology support (help desk).

    The VP of IT Infrastructure and Operations is a key partner in delivering the technology required to meet Express’s tactical and strategic goals.  This includes building strong partnerships across the business, defining and building out and effective organization and driving a high-performance culture with Infrastructure and Operations

    Responsibilities

    • Establish a strategic roadmap to transform the Express Infrastructure and Operational capabilities in support of the Express strategic vision and tactical priorities
    • Define the appropriate organizational structure for Infrastructure and Operations organization necessary to deliver on the strategic roadmap
    • Ensure appropriate balance of investment across maintenance, tactical changes and strategic programs to insure ongoing operations and improve service levels
    • Work closely with other business units to understand their needs from a business process and technology perspective. Where applicable, anticipate business needs and provide for them proactively.
    • Direct and coordinate the research, analysis and justification of new technologies in order to enhance performance and productivity. Ensure solutions support company goals and meet industry best practices.
    • Coordinate and direct the implementation of strategic projects to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with promised functionality.
    • Conduct RFP analysis and vendor selection processes when applicable.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience with technology infrastructure and service delivery within a specialty retail company with brick and mortar stores
    • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
    • Demonstrated experience in building and operating a scalable and highly available data center, cloud service delivery and hybrid environments
    • Demonstrated experience defining, delivering and supporting devops operating environments
    • Direct experience delivering and supporting multiunit infrastructure including in-store technology, network and telecommunications
    • Demonstrate strong vendor negotiating, procurement, and relationship skills
    • Experience in multiple platforms (iSeries, Unix/Linux, Windows, and Mainframe)
    • ITIL or standard IT process knowledge
    • Experience in desktop support including remote users and frequent travelers
    • Experience in access controls (firewalls, security) 

    Desired Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of Specialty Retail experience
    • Executive Committee communication and trusted advisory skills
    • Financial budget responsibilities of ten (10) to twenty (20) million annually
    • Background in TCO & ROI.
