    Responsibilities

     

    The purpose of Software Testing and Quality Assurance is to provide the means and measures for testing all the aspects of a software solution, both functionally and technically, in order to meet the requirements and overall quality of the application.

     

    The Quality Assurance analyst develops, implements, trains, and maintains manual and automated quality assurance testing methodologies and systems to ensure the accuracy and stability of software applications.  The Quality Assurance Analyst will work closely with business users, application development teams, and subject matter experts to ensure business requirements are met and delivered with high quality.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares test plans and testing methodologies based on documented requirements and interviews with Project Management, business partners, and development teams.
    • Partners cross functionally in the design, development, testing and implementation phases of assigned projects. Attends Business Requirement Document review sessions and assures all functional specifications are testable.
    • Coordinates with outside vendors, including development vendors, and banking and financial institutions, on needed testing and certifications.
    • Creates and executes detailed test scripts.
    • Ensure the test environment and associated test data is put into place before test execution and managed during test execution.
    • Ensure proper configuration of the testing software and traceability of the tests to the critical business capabilities.
    • Tracks and communicates application errors (defects) to development teams in a clear and concise manner.
    • Analyzes results, draws conclusions from test results and make recommendations for resolution.
    • Coordination, assistance, and communication of test environment build requirements
    • Ensures we stay SOX complaint from a systems testing perspective
    • Ensures no defective products are moved into production.
    • Provides third level functional support and training to Technology Solutions Center and cross functional partners as needed.
    • Reviews and provides feedback on documentation going to Stores on new applications / releases.
    • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
    • 1-3 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance in the Retail application systems; experience in the retail industry
    • Experience creating manual and automated test scripts
    • Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking, and resolving quality issues
    • Knowledge of automated testing tools
    • Experience using software testing applications such as Jira, HP ALM, SmartBear ALM Complete, or equivalent
    • Detailed organizational and coordination skills
    • Ability to clearly communicate to business users, IT development groups, and external vendors
    • Ability to communicate clearly; in writing, by phone and in person
    • Ability to understand business processes and integration of those processes into the systems to ensure complete end to end testing of software
    • Proven problem solving, training, and analytical skills
