The Senior Technical Project Manager of Retail Applications manages the development and delivery of both small and large, complex projects in the Merchandise, Planning and Allocation domains. This position applies project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet project requirements. Manages deliverables and activities to accomplish project objectives.
Delivery of Supply Chain/Retail Application related solutions to established and/or modified business area/management expectations; in terms of functionality/scope, quality, timeframe and financial constraints. Responsible for effectively managing assigned projects in the Merchandise, Planning and Allocation domain. Project management duties include: recommending project team structure, developing and maintaining the project plan, managing day-to-day work, tracking progress of all tasks, maintaining project accounting and financial results, resolving issues and delivering regular status reports. When outside vendors are part of the project, acts as manager and liaison with the vendor in issues of scope of work, team composition and vendor execution.
Observes management expectations and matches expectations (as they form, mature and change) to established project objectives. Assesses any gap between current and established expectations and actively works to close differences through either molding the business expectations or modifying the project objectives. When there is a substantial change in expectations which leads to a change in project objectives, pursues all consequences and documents the changes (scope, timing, funding). Immediately raises professional concerns in this area to project team and project sponsor and seeks assistance in expectation alignment process.
Works in conjunction with IT, Governance, and Procurement leadership to define, document and ensure execution of PMO standards.
-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum 5 years of department or project management experience.
-Must have solid understanding of project financials along with exposure to and experience with business processes, business analysis, and general retail business acumen.
-Experience in strategic planning, risk management and change management.
-Ability to management multiple projects simultaneously.
-Proficient in project management software tools.
-Strong ability to develop and maintain working relationships with key collaborators both internal and external to the organization
-Functional knowledge in Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning and Allocation domains
-Understanding of specialty retail concepts and processes preferred but not required
