Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW 

 

The Manager Technology Applications is responsible for the enhancement, support and operation for a portfolio of retail or corporate financial applications. This position will lead the technology team, will drive the strategy and tactics required to implement new applications and will evolve and innovate the current retail or corporate applications. The Manager will work closely with the functional leaders to ensure the exceptional operational support and strong delivery of project initiatives. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Leadership and guidance to the retail or corporate applications team developing skill sets and talents through mentorship and training
  • Collaborate with the functional leaders to understand business challenges and translate into solutions
  • Support and/or serve as the Project Manager for projects creating project plans and managing budgets
  • Responsibility for new software development, converging applications across brands, enhancements/modifications, system configuration, migrations/upgrades, and other strategic initiatives
  • Alignment of technology with business strategy; including scope definition, cost estimations, resource allocation, business requirements, process design, technical specifications, data management, compliance and testing
  • Provide 24x7 support for business-critical applications and serve as the first level of escalation regarding application operational issues
  • Establish KPIs to measure and manage success of project initiatives and operations
  • Partner with Security team to ensure best practices in code development and ongoing operations
  • Modernize the operations of application portfolio ensuring high availability for critical systems and reduced time to market

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Masters in Computer Science, IT or equivalent work experience.
  • Years of Experience: 7+ years of experience in project management, production operations management, data stewardship, business and functional analysis, testing and innovative problem solving.  
  • Proven track record of successful application implementations including go-live support
  • Ability to understand business challenges and translate them into solutions
  • Understanding of application architecture to ensure we are following enterprise standards
  • Experience with development and monitoring of project timelines and budgets
  • Knowledge of retail functions or Corporate Financial Applications (PeopleSoft, ADP, Netsuite, Anaplan, or Equivalent ERP systems) preferred.
