Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW

Oversee Ecommerce loss prevention; act as corporate Loss Prevention SME for OMNI initiatives (BOPIS, Loyalty, Ship From store, OMS, etc.). Lead team of home office loss prevention analyst(s). Independently Conduct complex and deep dive investigations of sophisticated criminals and criminal enterprises. Use a combination of manual and automated tools to gather data and conduct ad-hoc investigations to protect ROI of Loyalty program. Continuously monitor and recommend strategies/technology solutions to aid in the success of the Loyalty program. Make decisions independently to protect revenue and generate profit in OMNI environment. Work with cross-functional teams across organization for collaboration on fraud risks and investigations (internal audit, finance, ecommerce, I.T., marketing, etc.). Take on ad hoc projects/assignments related fraud investigations/prosecutions as necessary via complex data analysis, visualization, presentation, etc. Execution of strategy recommendations for revenue protection through complex data driven analysis. Provide executive level reporting on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis. Work with cross-functional stakeholders to drive process improvements that will positively impact revenue generation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Address all issues of fraudulent related activity to ecommerce website. Work on developing exception-based reporting to detect, predict, and prevent internal and external fraud related to ecommerce website. 
  • Continuously monitor the integrity of the brand’s loyalty program to prevent unnecessary loss or abuse. 
  • Act as corporate loss prevention SME to all cross functional partners (customer service, marketing, finance, internal audit, etc.) to reduce fraudulent exposure to internal and external customers. 
  • Ensure proper reporting and standards are met and continuously enhanced to protect revenue related loss for fraud related activities including ecommerce website and OMNI initiatives. 
  • Maintain ongoing relationship with all 3rd parties related to preventing fraud on ecommerce website, corporate home office systems, field loss prevention reporting, and case management systems.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree required 
  • 10+ years’ experience in retail investigations or equivalent
  • Experience in managing ecommerce fraud programs for large companies
  • Experience managing investigations
  • Proficiency in forensic data analysis, data modeling and/or data mining techniques to detect patterns indicative of fraud
  • Experience working in a high paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity
  • Proven ability in understanding complex process flows and improving processes
  • Strong financial and operational audit skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills, and ability to work independently and in a team environment

 

CRITICAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in e-commerce fraud prevention and investigations
  • Exposure to Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • 5+ years of Project Management\ System Implementation\ UAT experience
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible in responding to deadlines and workflow fluctuations
  • Experience working with Federal/State/foreign law enforcement or national security agencies
  • Reviewing and investigating reports of suspected fraudulent activity
  • Using data analysis techniques, critical thinking, and pattern detection to uncover fraud
  • Gathering information and documentation from customers and internal sources
  • Remediating and correcting activity that is deemed fraudulent
  • Act as SME and mentor to junior analyst
  • Work on complex investigations including fraud rings and patterns
  • Creating documentation and procedures for fraud investigations
