Job Summary

  The Sr. Manager of Fabric Research and Development works alongside the SVP’s and VP’s of Apparel Design to research and

  develop textiles for each season that will reflect the brand image and represent new and innovative product that is  

  commercially viable. 


 Primary Responsibilities - 

  • Meet with mills and suppliers to obtain current textile samples and develop qualities consistent with Design vision.
  • Research and establish standards for textiles, prepare standards for handoff.
  • Order, track, and budget development sample yardage.
  • Research each fabric for initial cost.
  • Input fabric details in to Web PDM database.
  • Other essential tasks that are not listed may be requested by your supervisor.

 Job Requirements - 


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in fashion or textiles
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and product engineering, trade regulations, testing protocol, and fabric construction.
  • Experience: 7-10 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and product engineering, trade regulations, testing protocol, and fabric construction.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work well within team environment
  • Strong presentation and communication skills


 Desired Qualifications - 

  • Must be extremely organized and detailed oriented.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Web PDM.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within team environment and cross-functional partners.
